Game Description

Deltheas was a grand experiment in city building. With land area shrinking and the population continuing to boom, Delthea was built entirely underwater, a domed city planned to the last inch, with all the latest and greatest technology, to house the elite. The world above the waves exploded into war, fueled by environmental damage, climate change, population pressure, and more, leaving Deltheas to itself, cut off from the world above. The Elite society stratified, and in a few generations, as systems began to break down, and only a few were able to hold on to trade with the surface, Deltheas developed its own Elite, its own struggling 'middle class', its own slums.

It has been generations. No one alive remembers the surface world any more. Life is precarious, with only the dome separating you from the crushing ocean around you. In places, the seals are worn, leading to worrisome leaks. The air recycler is prone to breaking down, and only a few know how to repair it and keep it going. The water purifier, which allows for drinkable water and irrigation of the very necessary gardens, is also in bad shape. Trade goods from the surface come intermittently, and are extremely expensive.

You are one of the lucky ones, employed as a Special Investigator for the city. Unfortunately, luck runs both ways. A prominent member of City Council, the Chief Engineer, has been murdered, just as both the air recycler and water purifier have gone haywire. Junior Engineers are holding it together - barely - but the plans for the equipment have gone missing, stolen from the Chief Engineer's office. Without those plans, its only a matter of time before the recycler dies for good, and the city suffocates. The Council fearing sabotage, has locked down the city until the perpetrator can be found. No one can flee justice - or the potential collapse of Deltheas' systems.

Can you find the murderer, find the plans, and prevent Deltheas from becoming just another wreck on the bottom of the ocean? Time - and air - is running out.

Pre-Generated Characters and dice will be provided.

Cypher is an easy system to learn, and suitable for novice players.

Game Master

Sandra Sine

Task Force Leader

Chris P. A Noble Speaker who Leads You are the assigned leader of this Task Force and are ultimately responsible for producing results to Council. The reputation - and continued social status - of you and your family are on the line. Whether those assigned to you actually listen is up to them.

Investigator

James Tordiff A Perceptive Explorer who Solves Mysteries. A private consultant, you have assisted the Council a number of times before, but only on a contract basis. Solving this case will not only save the city, but also secure you a permanent job, and move you up the social ladder to safer, drier districts.

Network Specialist

Kaleb Dodd A Mechanical Explorer who Works the System. You've been caught tinkering with Deltheas' systems before. Council has agreed to pardon you for all your misdeeds if you work this case.

Firearms Expert

Jellen A Clever Warrior who is Licensed to Carry. You are a newly graduated member of the Deltheas's police force, and this is your first case, ever. You only got assigned to this task force because you have a relative on Council. While you are not naive, you are green and eager to prove yourself.

Beat Cop

John St.Germain An Honourable Warrior who Looks for Trouble. You've been a part of Deltheas' police force for a long time. You watch out for its ordinary citizens. Your reputation is why you were assigned to this task force, and you know you can't let the citizens down.

Lab Tech

Chris C. An Inquisitive Speaker who Conducts Weird Science. You are poor and live in one of the 'bad' districts of the city. Your one solace is working in the lab, tinkering and discovering things. You have volunteered to help this task force to help your neighbourhood, even if it means leaving the safety of your lab.
