Game Description
Welcome to anouther year for the Catan Canada Championship Qualifier tournament for the Canadian Championship held at EGLX 2020! This tournament is not for the faint of heart. It will run all day on Saturday. There is 3 preliminary rounds. The top 16 players move to the semi-finals, running at four tables. The winner of each one of those games move to the finals.There is an additional $10.00 entry fee for this tournament.
Catan Code of Conduct: This is the same at what we have in place for all of Gryphcon and we're happy to say we've never had an issue to date.
NO HARASSMENT OF ANY KIND. When at a convention or event hosted by Catan Studio, you are in a safe, respectful, inclusive, and fun environment. This Code of Conduct applies to everyone: staff, contractors, other vendors, convention staff, guests, and press will be held to the same standards. If you experience or witness any form of harassment, please contact a Catan Studio staff member or convention show office. If you are asked to stop any harassing behavior as listed above, STOP immediately. Enforcement will be escalated to Con Staff.
How Is The Catan National Championship Run In Canada?
Our Canadian tournament consists of local qualifying tournaments that take place year-round. The winners of each of the tournaments win a seat at the Catan Canada National Championship, which is held in August at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto, ON. Players will face off against all other winners of the Qualifier tournaments to become the year’s Catan Canada Champion.
Every two years the Champions are sent to the Catan World Championship tournament. The next Catan World Championship will be located in Malta, taking place in November 2020. The Canadian champion will also compete in the Americas tournament, a new event taking place in the off-years from the World Championship.
Catan Canada 2020 Season
NOTE: All participants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents and be 18+ years of age. Hosts may not play in their own events. If you are a player who has won a regional Qualifier in a season, you are not allowed to play in other qualifying tournaments in the same season.
